BRAZORIA COUNTY
The Brazoria County Fair Youth Advisory Council is a youth leadership development organization sponsored by the Brazoria County Fair Association. The mission of the Youth Advisory Council (YAC’s) is to make a positive difference in the fair itself and the lives of the youth of Brazoria County by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through their participation in Fair activities. The Council is comprised of youth representing all Brazoria County high schools, 4-H, FFA and the Community. All members are the leaders of the group and each member serves for one year. All Youth Advisory Council members must be successfully enrolled in high school, passing all classes and be recommended by two adult advisors that are willing to provide letters of recommendation. All members must be members of (or families’ members of) and exhibit in the Brazoria County Fair (i.e., speech & essay, youth horse show, photography, student art, livestock, etc.). All members must have written/signed approval of their parents or guardians. Applications will be accepted now through Monday, January 31, 2011. All applications must be turned into the Fair Office. A panel will review prospective member applications and notify those of their appointments by February 11, 2011.
